The Speedco truck lube and tire changing facility along Westbow Boulevard is currently in the process of hiring and plans to open in June.
The first location of a Speedco truck lube and tire changing facility in the state of Washington is moving closer to its opening at the State Route 902 exit along Interstate 90.
Signs promoting hiring have been in place for several weeks and the company is looking to fill a variety of positions, manager Craig Barr said. "We're looking to fill all positions from the tech (crew) all the way up to store managers."
"We take possession of the building June 6," Barr said, adding there will be a soft opening the end of June and a grand opening sometime in September.
Construction began in October 2015 on three acres of property on Westbow Boulevard near the Super 8 Motel. Another northwest location is in the Portland area.
Spokane is the first of a 26-store expansion planned for the next five years, Barr said. The 11,000 square-foot building will provide both lube and tire services to heavy trucks, according to general contractor, Baker Construction and Development. of Spokane.
Speedco is a Nashville, Tenn. based company with nearly 50 similar stores across the country.
