City services observe Presidents’ Day, Feb. 15
Monday, Feb. 15, is President’s Day, and all city of Cheney, Medical Lake and Airway Heights offices and services will be closed in observance of the holiday.
City of Cheney solid waste utility customers will see their pickup one day later than usual because of the holiday. Collection in Medical Lake and Airway Heights remains the same.
County closures Feb. 15
All Spokane County Library District locations will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15, to observe Presidents’ Day. Regular hours resume Tuesday, Feb. 16.
SCLD online services remain available 24/7.
All Spokane County offices and courts will also be closed on Monday. They will reopen Tuesday.
Cheney VFW breakfast Feb. 20
Cheney’s Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 11326, is hosting a pancake feed Saturday, Feb. 20, from 7:30 –10:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, 116 College Ave.
War veterans in the Cheney community will serve a traditional breakfast of pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. Donations appreciated, suggested at $10 for each adult and $5 for children under age 12.
All proceeds benefit Cheney Veteran Programs and the upkeep of Veterans Memorial Park, where local heroes are memorialized with a brick or on the memorial itself. Memorial bricks will be available for purchase at the breakfast for a favorite veteran.
