Schwab receives street vacation nod

With no live public comment offered at their meeting, and none received by the city in the past several weeks, the Cheney City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to vacate a portion of Spokane Street to accommodate the expansion of Les Schwab Tires.

The 100 x 60-foot section of the street that dead-ends against the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks was valued at approximately $3,000 according to Public Works Director, Todd Ableman.
