Jodi Roberta (VanAllen) Wickering

Jodi Roberta (VanAllen) Wickering of Cheney/Tyler, Wash., passed away after a long battle with health issues on May 24, 2015 at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane. Jodi was born in Vaudeville, Calif. on Jan. 4, 1953 to Robert and Marlo Van Allen. She was a graduate of Medical Lake High School class of 1971. She completed Beauty School of Cosmetology in Spokane in 1972.

She met her husband of 42 years, Raymond J. Wickering at Fairchild Air Force Base that same year and was married on Dec. 15, 1972. Jodi was preceded in death by her brother Michael VanAllen of Spokane and daughter Nichole M. Wickering of Spokane. She is survived by her husband Raymond J. Wickering of Cheney/Tyler, her son Allen J. Wickering of Spokane, daughter Marissa K. Wickering of Cheney/Tyler, daughter-in-law Jennifer L. Wickering of Spokane and granddaughter Savanna L. Wickering of Spokane, her sisters Christine Finafrock of Colbert, and Karen A. VanAllen of Spokane, and her brother Robin VanAllen of Soap Lake, Wash. Jodi has numerous nephews and nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and friends on both sides of the state and the country.

She was loved by many and she treated all with her love and friendship. Jodi will be greatly missed by all who have met her and have been a part of her life. We will greatly miss her and will always have thoughts of her in our hearts forever.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m. to get together with friends and family to celebrate Jodi and her life and how we remember her. Please call for information 509-239-4438 as we are still looking for a location. There will be a service for Jodi at the Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery in Medical Lake, Wash. Monday, June 8, at 2:45 p.m. All friends, acquaintances and family who would like to attend are more than welcome to attend.
