Mystery of hit-and-run involving Medical Lake man remains unsolved

An incident officers labeled as a hit-and-run accident involving a Medical Lake man is still under investigation.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Rick Johnson was walking along Geiger Boulevard, near Interstate 90’s Medical Lake exit at around midnight, Jan. 4 to a gas station, a block away from the RV park where he lives. After discovering the gas station was closed, he began walking home when he was struck from behind and knocked unconscious. He woke up on the side of the road one hour later.
