CHENEY

May 9

Vincent J. Ash, 51, was arrested on the zero block of B Street on a trespassing warrant from Spokane Municipal Court.

A red bicycle was found on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road.

May 10

Edward J. Steetle, 21, was arrested on the 2300 block of University Lane on a Spokane warrant for driving while license suspended.

Domestic violence—verbal only—was reported on the 2300 block of University Lane.

Tavish J. Jones, 24, was arrested on the zero block of North Sixth Street for domestic violence–related assault.

A checkbook and prescription medication was taken from a vehicle on the 800 block of First Street.

May 11

A suicide attempt was reported on the 1500 block of First Street. The subject was voluntarily committed to the hospital.

Tools were taken from the zero hundred block of West First Street.

Two 12-year-old females were arrested at the Cheney Middle School for the theft of an iPod.

Domestic violence-verbal only was reported on the 200 block of Simpson Parkway.

Cheney Police assisted the Spokane County Sheriff's Office and Airway Heights Police Department in responding to a shooting on the 400 block of Walker Street in Medical Lake.

May 12

Financial fraud—identity theft—occurred on the 700 block of West First Street.

The theft of an iPod was reported at Cheney High School.

May 13

Cameron M. Sharp, 20, and Nollan J. Quinn, 20, were both arrested on the zero hundred block of West Third Street for minor in possession of alcohol.

A pizza was taken from the 100 block of Alki Street.

An assault was reported on the 300 block of College Street.

Ricardo Montesinos-Gonzalez was arrested for DWLS on the 1500 block of First Street.

May 14

Possession of stolen property was reported on the 500 block of Fourth Street.

A bicycle was stolen from the 500 block of Hampton Street.

Domestic violence—verbal only—was reported on the 300 block of Erie Street.

A BBQ grill was stolen from the 800 block of Third Street.

Cash was taken from the 300 block of North Fifth Street.

Wilson H. James, 21, was arrested on the 200 block of West Third Street for taking two iPods from a vehicle and on a Department of Corrections felony warrant. Another suspect was identified and property was recovered; the incident was pending investigation.

Gregory L. Rockne, 23, was arrested on the 400 block of First Street for assault, disorderly conduct, possession of a weapon and obstructing an officer.

May 15

Kaneshia S. Brooks, 22, was arrested on the 900 block of First Street on local warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply.

An assault was reported on the 500 block of Betz Road.

EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

May 13

Police received a call of an attempted abduction with a weapon at Brewster Hall. Officers contacted a female student who said she was taking out the trash around midnight when someone came up behind her, poked her in the back with what felt like the barrel of a gun and told her to get into a nearby vehicle. When the student refused the suspect apparently panicked and fled.

Upon further investigation officers determined that the incident was false, made up. The female student was contacted and in the presence of her father at university police facilities she admitted the story was made up. She was cited for making a false report.

May 4

Officers took an information report regarding assault/disorderly conduct on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

An adult female was arrested for third-degree DWLS at Sprague Avenue and Hayford Road.

May 5

An adult female was arrested for third-degree DWLS at Highway 2 and Hayford Road.

Officers assisted another agency on the 2000 block of North Craig Road.

An adult male was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief on the 13000 block of West 13th Avenue.

May 6

Officers performed a welfare check at Highway 2 and Hayford Road.

An adult female was arrested on a warrant for escape at Highway 2 and Hayford Road.

Officers took a report of a suicidal subject at Highway 2 and King Street.

Officers took a report of taking a motor vehicle without permission on the 500 block of South Easy Street.

May 7

Officers took a report of an intoxicated person on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

An adult male was arrested for a warrant at Highway 2 and Loffler Street.

An adult male was arrested for third-degree DWLS at Highway 2 and Lawson Street.

May 8

Officers took a report of third-degree theft at 8th Avenue and Lawson Street.

May 9

Officers took a report of a code violation at Aspen Street and White Tip Avenue.

An adult male was arrested for third-degree DWLS at Sprague Avenue and Hayford Road.

May 10

Officers took a report of an animal complaint on the 1900 block of South Mintle Street.

Officers took a report of an abandoned vehicle at 13th Avenue and West Street.

An adult male was arrested for disorderly conduct on the 1800 block of South Mintle Street.

An adult female was arrested for violating a domestic violence no contact order on the 12000 block of West 19th Avenue.

Officers took a report of attempted burglary on the 12000 block of West 13th Avenue.

Officers took a report of counterfeit money on the 1400 block of South Albert Street.
