Second Annual P.E.A.C.H Community Farm Country fair coming April 30

Green grass, young flowers, runners training for Bloomsday – signs of spring are here and P.E.A.C.H. Community Farm is ready to celebrate with their second annual country fair on Saturday, April 30.

“Last year was a rollicking good time and this year will be much bigger,” P.E.A.C.H founder Brightspirit Hendrix said in a press release.

The country fair will include organic gardening workshops, kids' games, cheese making, baby goat petting, chicken keeping, a wild edible plant walk, a raw foods demonstration, green smoothies and more. Sound Travel and other local bands will fill the air with music as participants learn from workshops and kids enjoy classic farm games and farm animals.

The fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 30 at P.E.A.C.H Community Farm, 10425 South Andrus Rd. in Cheney. Tickets will be $5 at the gate; kids and bicyclists get in free. All proceeds will benefit the non-profit P.E.A.C.H Community Farm in their efforts to bring nutritious, organic produce to low-income Spokane.

The mission of P.E.A.C.H (People for Environmental Action and Community Health) is to create a vibrant local food system that advances economic viability, community health, social equity and sustainable agriculture in Spokane County. P.E.A.C.H provides education, market opportunities and land for area farmers aspiring to sustainable practices.
