Rachel and Madeline Secor, the daughters of Cheney residents Cindy and Blain Secor, have each been awarded $2,500 through the Presidents Scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year at Eastern Washington University.
This scholarship is awarded to high school students with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.8 or higher OR an SAT score of 1250 or higher.
Rachel is set to graduate from Cheney High School in 2011, where she has participated in CHS marching band, CHS pep band, wind ensemble and Key Club. She plans to attend EWU in the fall where she will be majoring in computer science.
Madeline is also set to graduate from CHS in 2011, where she has been active in the CHS marching band, wind ensemble, ASB representative, Class of 2011 historian, Key Club and pep band.
She plans to major in nursing at EWU this fall.
