Dorothy A. Jacobsen

Dorothy Jacobsen, age 69, of Spangle passed away April 28 in Spokane.

Dorothy was born April 17, 1941 in Spokane to Franklin E. and Flora A. (Watts) Degon and was a graduate of Spangle High School, class of 1959. She was married to Alvin O. Jacobsen on July 16, 1965.

Dorothy worked at Sacred Heart Hospital from 1959 to 1967 and also had an in home daycare for 30 years in the Spangle area. She also did much of the gardening and trimming at the Spangle cemetery, where she was buried.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Diabetes Association in her memory.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Alvin Jacobsen of Spangle, daughter Lisa Jacobsen Rasmussen and her husband Donald of Cheney, son John Jacobsen and his wife Jessica of Cheney; brothers, Larry Degon of Spangle and Jack Degon of Yuma, Ariz.; sisters, Betty Smith of Spangle and Yvonne Rose of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchildren, Brittany, Amanda, Noah, Caitlyn, Johnathen and Alaina; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held Sunday, May 2 at the Cheney Funeral Chapel. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 4, at the Spangle cemetery followed by a reception at the Spangle Service Club.

Cheney Funeral Chapel was in chargeof the arrangements.
