ML to apply for qualified bonds

During an April 7 special meeting the Medical Lake School Board approved submittal of an application asking the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to authorize the district to issue Qualified School Construction Bonds.

These specialized bonds are made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and are taxable and interest free. Federal law provides a yearly limit on the number of these bonds that can be issued for each state and in Washington OSPI allocates the amount of bonds issued to eligible school districts.
