Stanley E. Brown

Stan passed away Oct. 17, 2009 in Fruitland, Wash. He was born on March 12, 1947 in Yakima, Wash. to Lyle and Ruth (Reiter) Brown. He is survived by his daughter Vanessa Hollis of Deer Meadows, Wash. and two grandchildren Veronica and Dillon Hollis, also of Deer Meadows. He is also survived by his mother Ruth Brown of Moses Lake, Wash. and seven brothers and sisters Fran (and Bob) Hayes of Moses Lake, Wash.; Lyle (and Esther) Brown of Colville, Wash.; Darrell (and Ginger) Brown of Ephrata, Wash.; David (and Lynda) Brown of Colbert, Wash.; Gary (and Flossy) Brown of Union Gap, Wash.; Julie (and Dan) Maplethorpe of Kennewick, Wash.; Shelly (and Allan) Haywood of Enumclaw, Wash. and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Lyle Brown and an infant son. Stan loved fishing, hunting, working with antique cars and the great outdoors. Stan was always willing to give his time and energy to help a friend or his family. He loved family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a commissioner for the Four Lakes Water District and was the maintenance supervisor for the City of Cheney and had worked for the City of Connell and was a member of the “Good Guys Car Club.” A celebration of life memorial service is Sat., October 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Cheney Funeral Chapel, 1632 W. First St., Cheney, WA. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, Wash. is caring for the family.
