CHENEY

April 12

Domestic violence was reported on the 700 block of First Street. Dispute was verbal only.

Jasmine L. Hunter was arrested on the 1300 block of First Street for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS).

Gene Paul B. Crow, 23, was arrested on the 600 block of Union Street for urinating in public.

April 11

A third-degree malicious mischief report was made at the Cheney Police Department.

April 10

Rape by force was reported on the 700 block of Chestnut Street. Investigation is ongoing.

Second-degree theft was reported at Cheney High School when an iPod was taken.

A 16-year-old male was arrested at Safeway for fourth-degree assault, minor in possession (MIP) and third-degree theft/shoplifting. Another 16-year-old male was arrested for third-degree theft and MIP.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 800 block of Fifth Street when currency was taken from a residence.

A 16-year-old male was arrested at Cheney High School for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 200 block of Front Street when a mailbox was damaged.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 800 block of West First Street when a wallet was taken from a vehicle.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 800 block of First Street when a vehicle was egged.

April 8

A 13-year-old male was arrested on the 2500 block of North Sixth Street for fourth-degree assault.

Eric E. Engel, 23, was arrested on the 600 block of West Sixth Street for second-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS).

Domestic violence was reported on the 2300 block of University Lane. Dispute was verbal only.

Harassment was reported on the 2400 block of First Street.

Domestic violence was reported on the 200 block of south Cheney Spangle Road. Dispute was verbal only.

First-degree theft was reported on the 2700 block of First Street when cash was taken from a residence.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of West Seventh Street when a wallet and prescription drugs were taken from a residence.

Second-degree theft was reported at Cheney High School when an iPod and a cell phone was taken.

April 7

Third-degree theft was reported on the 2300 block of First Street when a screwdriver and a car stereo were taken from a vehicle.

April 6

A Mastercard was found on the 2300 block of First Street.

Randy D. Welsh, 22, was arrested on the 2700 block of North Sixth Street on a misdemeanor warrant from Cheney Municipal Court stemming from a second-degree trespassing arrest.

A wallet was found on the 100 block of North Seventh Street.

Financial fraud was reported to the Cheney Police Department regarding a stolen checkbook.

April 5

A 15-year-old male was arrested on the 2700 block of First Street for third-degree theft/shoplifting, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of weapons (a .44 magnum and two knives).

April 12

Received a report of an assault in the 800 block of West Maple Street.

April 10

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North Fox Ridge Road on the report of a possible suicide.

April 9

A theft was reported to have occurred in the 500 block of East Barker Street.

An officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of Stanley and Fellows. Fred E. Stephens, 49, of Medical Lake was arrested for DWLS.

An officer made contact with three juveniles in the 500 block of East Barker Street; they were trespassed from the location.

Received a report of a fraud in the 400 block of East Connie Ray.  

April 8

An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of East Lake Street on the report of a possible theft. Jeremy M. Dixon, 19, of Airway Heights and Justin A. Boggs, 20, of Medical Lake were arrested for first-degree theft.  

April 6

An officer initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of East SR-902. Joseph F. Oosting, 49, of Spokane Valley was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant. 

Officers were dispatched to Brayton Road and Barker Street on the report of a juvenile that appeared to be intoxicated and was falling down in the road. A juvenile male was arrested for MIP in the area of Lake and Keene Road. 

AIRWAY HEIGHTS

April 12

Officers investigated an alarm in the 1600 block of Garfield Road. Everything was OK.

Police assisted Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) deputies and Washington State Patrol (WSP) on a driving under the influence (DUI) stop in the 12500 block of 12th Avenue.

Officers assisted SCSO deputies with a large party in the 2200 block of North Craig Road.

April 11

Police provided a civil standby in the area of 1700 South Lawson Street.

Officers responded to the area of 100 North Hayford Road on an attempt to locate a stolen vehicle. Vehicle was not located.

Officers assisted SCSO deputies on a burglary in progress call in the area of 22800 West Washington Road.

Heidi M. Shankey, 33, was arrested at 13th Avenue and Campbell Street for DUI.

Police investigated a possible domestic violence in the area of 100 North Hayford Road. It was verbal only.

Officers contacted four subjects (three juveniles) walking in the roadway after midnight.

Jeffrey R. Hjort, 43, was contacted in the 100 block of North Hayford Road and booked into jail for possession of methamphetamine.

April 10

Sammi A. Meredith, 32, was arrested at Sunset Highway and Craig Road for third-degree DWLS.

Samantha J. Ward, 24, was arrested for possession of marijuana at Sunset Highway and Craig Road.

Officers investigated a report of a dog left in a vehicle near 100 North Hayford Road.

Angel Troutt, 31, was arrested at Sunset Highway and Lyons Road for second-degree DWLS. She was booked into jail on a misdemeanor warrant for negligent driving from Spokane District Court.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury collision at Sunset Highway and Garfield Road.

Nitasha D. Johns, 30, was contacted near 6th Avenue and Solar Street. She was booked into jail on a fugitive warrant from Colorado.

A juvenile subject contacted in the 1800 block of Mintle Street was found to have taken a motor vehicle without permission. The juvenile was booked into Spokane Juvenile Detention.

April 9

Police responded to the 700 block of Horton Street to take a report of a theft of a pink and white mountain bicycle.

A man called to report his stolen vehicle was sitting in the 100 block of North Hayford Road. Officers responded to investigate.

Police responded to a report of two males fighting near the 1600 block of Campbell Street. The males were contacted and released.

Officers investigated a set of golf clubs laying in the middle of the roadway at 6th Avenue and King Street.

Police assisted Kalispel Tribal police with a disorderly subject who was being trespassed from the premises.

A suspicious subject walking up and down the highway was contacted by officers and stated he was looking for the bus stop.

Police assisted SCSO deputies by responding to a car fire in the 11800 block of Deno Road.

Officers responded to the 100 block of North Hayford Road for drug activity.

Police investigated a reported assault in the 11900 block of Sprague Avenue. It turned out to be a fight.

April 8

John A. Campisi, 43, was booked into jail on a felony warrant and a misdemeanor warrant, both from Spokane.

Police assisted Medical Lake Police officers on a fight call near Barker and Hallet Road.

Margaret A. Dean, 39, was arrested for third-degree DWLS at Sunset Highway and Hayford Road.

Officers assisted SCSO deputies with an intoxicated subject in the 3800 block of Geiger Blvd.

Daniel J. Wooton, 44, was contacted by officers at Sunset Highway and Hayford Road. He was booked into jail on the charges of possession of methamphetamine and first-degree DWLS.

Officers assisted WSP on a DUI stop at Highway 2 and Rambo Road.

Police investigated a sighting of three subjects wearing black clothing running down the street near 13th Avenue and Loffler Street.

April 7

An assault was investigated by officers in the 11900 block of Sprague Avenue.

Harvey G. Dick, 35, was arrested by officers for DWLS. He was booked into jail on a felony warrant for fail to register (sex offender).

Police were called to the 800 block of Ziegler Street for a juvenile assault.

Officers assisted SCSO deputies with a mental subject in the 3800 block of Geiger Blvd.

Paul K. Greathouse, 20, was arrested at Sunset Highway and Garfield Road for DWLS out of state (Iowa).

April 6

Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the turn lane on Garfield Road.

Police investigated a report of a subject shooting an arrow into a backyard from the sidewalk near 6th Avenue, west of Russell Street.

Suspicious subjects looking over fences into backyards near 6th Avenue and Russell Street were contacted by officers.

Police were called to the 100 block of North Hayford Road to pick up and destroy a drug pipe found on the ground.
