Adult Bible study “In the beginning, a walk through Genesis” - For the last few weeks we have been discussing the life of Abraham and the relationship that God was developing with him. Now the focus of God's plan is beginning to shift toward his son, Isaac. What were some of the interesting customs surrounding his marriage to Rebekah and why are they recorded for us to read today? We'll be looking at these and other fascinating aspects in our discussions every Wednesday night from 7-8 pm. Come and join our adult Bible study where home baked refreshments are always provided.

Prime Timers, our senior adult ministry, will have a ‘table games' day at the church on Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 1:30-4 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Bring a snack if you want.

Prime Timers will also hold their monthly potluck luncheon on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at noon. Bring a friend and join in the fun.

Youth Concert Friday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. This will not be a worship service - it is open to everyone - and it's free. Come and rock the house down! (There is no charge, but donations will be encouraged.)

The church barbecue went well last week, with many people enjoying food, activities, and swimming.

Thanks to all who helped organize and set up the picnic. Thanks to all who brought food and beverages. Thanks to the Pryors for letting us use the facilities at your home again this year. And a big thank-you to Paul Holloway for providing the propane grills and, along with the help of Jerry Hilton, for cooking all of those cheeseburgers!

With all of this nice summer sunshine, have any of you felt a bit closed in when attending church inside a building? Well, so have we!

So, this Sunday (Aug. 5), we are holding the church service at camp N-Sid-Sen on Lake Coeur d' Alene, and the service will be held one hour later than usual at 11 a.m. There is a beautiful outdoor chapel that we will use for the service.

Then, everyone is invited to walk down the path to the recreation area. There is a beach, dock, and swimming ladder for those who like the water. There are also picnic tables for playing games or and eating your picnic lunch.

(Important: the church will not provide lunch, so everyone must bring their own.) It is a lot of fun, and also a nice break from having church inside.

If you need more information or directions on how to get there, please contact the church office. We hope to see plenty of people there, so don't forget to put it on your calendar!

As always, services at the UCC are open to any who wish to attend, and participation is on a volunteer basis and only to the extent with which and individual is comfortable. Communion is open to any who wish to partake, and is usually served during the first service of the month.
