Children's church: All kids, kindergarten through fifth grade, are invited to join us for our kids' program, Odyssey, on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:15 p.m. This month we will be doing a series on Dr. Seuss and the Bible. We will have stories, learn memory verses, do crafts and earn prizes.

Vacation Bible School: June 18 to 22, 9 a.m. to noon daily. Register upon arrival. It's a “rootin-tootin” Wild West show at “Tumbleweed Gulch”, where God's love changes everything. Children are invited to dress Wild West style.

Consuming Fire Youth Ministries presents: POINT OF ORIGIN, youth worship service every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. for grades six through 12. Call 235-6261 for more information.

Adult Bible study: “In the beginning, a walk through Genesis” is a Biblical look at the human journey.

Every Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, we explore this fascinating first book of the Bible that begins with God, and ends with a coffin. Why should this matter to us? What we discover in our journey through this book will amaze you.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Both Old and New Testaments reflect stories about mission; God sending people into the world with the message of salvation. God sent Joseph to preserve life in Egypt. God sent Moses and Aaron to deliver the people from bondage there.God sent prophets to proclaim the word of God.

God sent John to bear witness to the light. God sent Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, to justify ungodly humanity, to provide life through him, and to be the Savior of the world.

Heritage Baptist Church

Heritage Baptist Church is hosting camp meting under the Pines. This year, the camp meeting will be held in the pavilion at Salnave Park next to the Salnave Drive in Cheney. The camp meeting will be held June 21-22. We will begin at 7 p.m. each evening You are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for comfortable seating and get right into the spirit of the meeting.

Gospel music is a major part of a camp meeting. There will be a camp meeting choir as well as congregational signing and special music each evening. Four those who have never been a part of a camp meeting choir, the choir are made up of people attending who like to sing gospel music.

Songbooks will be given to all who wish to be part of the choir and songs chosen are appropriate for the evening. Those who are part of those attending are free to sing along also.

The preacher for the camp meeting is David Maynard of Clemmons, N.C. Brother Maynard is a real camp meeting preacher. Brother Maynard is an accomplished trumpeter and Sister Maynard plays the piano and sings as well. Come expecting a blessing from the moving of the Holy Spirit.

The folks at Heritage Baptist Church also wish to extend a special invitation to join us for our regularly scheduled Sunday morning service each Sunday morning at 10:30 am. At the present time, we meet at the Wren Pierson building at 615 Fourth St. You might also fit into our home Bible studies around the area.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church

All are welcome.

The third Sunday after Pentecost, Father's Day. Holy Eucharist with music at 11 a.m. The Rev. Barrett Lindsey, vicar and priest, will preside. Child care is available during the 11 a.m. service. Coffee hour follows the service.

Fellowship breakfast, Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. All are welcome!

United Methodist Church

Saturday morning the UMC Birthday Bunch will gather for breakfast at the Harvester in Spangle. The no-host breakfast will be at 9 a.m. and will celebrate June birthdays.

Join us for a new Sunday morning schedule at the UMC this week. Worship this Sunday and for the remainder of the summer is at 9:30 a.m. There will just one service and no Sunday school classes. Listen to a special guest speaker while the Rev. Joanne Coleman Campbell is at annual conference. Not only is it Father's Day, but also cycle of life Sunday where June birthdays will be celebrated and June deaths remembered.

Following the service is a fellowship time. Visitors and newcomers to the Cheney area will find a warm welcome here.
