    The combined resources of Spokane County Fire District No. 3, the Cheney Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources made short work of what has been called the Cameron Road Fire on Wednesday, Aug. 12. “Fortunately we had a lot of resources available,” including several aircraft, District 3 Division Chief Debby Dodson said in dousing the eight-acre blaze. “We had a really quick response which was just very, very helpful.     Mitchell honored by CFL Former Eastern Eagle and current Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has been named the player of the week in the Canadian Football League. Mitchell earned the nod after throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for two more in a 48-3 victory over the Ottawa RedBlacks on Aug. 15.
