SPOKANE VALLEY — On January 19, Spokane Valley Investigative Unit Detectives, armed with a search warrant due to persistent residency issues, apprehended two suspects at the 1300 block of S. Kahuna Drive.

The occupants, identified as 27-year-old Alonzo C. Favel and 34-year-old Kaycee L. Wayne, asserted residency at the address. With no means to contact the owner for verification, Deputies and SVIU collaborated with the homeowner’s attorneys to secure a search warrant after establishing probable cause on January 18.

Wayne had an outstanding warrant with the Snoqualmie Police Department for operating a vehicle without an interlock device, along with another warrant from Upper Kittitas Police Department for failure to appear related to driving with a suspended license. Her criminal history included recent convictions for unlawful possession of a firearm and 2nd-degree contraband.

Favel’s record indicated an arrest at the Kahuna residence on November 15, 2023, for a misdemeanor Making False Statement warrant and a felony Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) escape community custody warrant (original charge of 1st degree robbery). Currently under DOC supervision, Favel is classified as a high violent property drug offender.

At around 8:00 am on January 19, assisted by the SWAT Team and Patrol Deputies, the search warrant was executed, leading to the incident-free apprehension of Wayne and Favel.

During the search, investigators discovered and seized a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine and a few pills believed to contain fentanyl. These substances are undergoing lab analysis for confirmation. SVIU Detectives also confiscated property believed to be stolen, including IDs, mail, checks, and documents.

Wayne and Favel were transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of residential burglary and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges and arrests are possible.
