Spokane Valley Department Re-accredited

SPOKANE VALLEY - the Spokane Valley Police Department has Successfully Completed a rigorous program. The program is administered by the Washington association of sheriff and police chiefs. Involving an eight phases, thorough process over several months of evaluation.

The benefits of the accreditation, includes administrative and operational effectiveness, fair recruitment and employment practices, better record management, improved use of technology. Health and safety training, codes of conduct, and prisoner security, with also other important law enforcement tasks.

SVPD,contract agency staffed to provide law enforcement services to the Spokane Valley. The agency is the first and only contract police agency to receive Washington Association of WASPC accreditation in 2011. Since the new higher level of professionals,, receiving re-accreditation every four years.

Steven Strahan, WASPC executive director said "The community should be proud of their local law enforcement for taking direct and tangible steps to earn the public's confidence in their operations."

Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels commented "Since the City of Spokane Valley Incorporated and contracted with the Sheriff's Office for law enforcement services, we have and will proudly continue providing a professional and premier level of public safety services the citizens of Spokane Valley deserve."
