Cardinals overcome sickness to gain split

Despite being saddled by sickness, the Medical Lake girls’ basketball team found what it needed to collect at least one win out of two games last week.

“It was a crazy week for us,” new coach Brett Ward wrote in an email. “For pretty much the entire week we had three of our nine varsity players out sick.” At one point half of the whole program was out sick Ward said.

Despite that, the Cardinals lost to Northwest Christian 43-22 on Dec. 6 on the road but topped Lind-Ritzville/Sprague at home 48-41, Dec. 9.
