The Travis Peevey era of Cheney basketball launched last week with the Blackhawks’ boys earning a split in a pair of non-league games.
Cheney dropped its opener to University, 53-47, Dec. 6 but then topped North Central 58-49 on Dec. 9. A game Saturday at home vs. Wenatchee was cancelled due to effects of a storm with efforts underway to possibly reschedule.
In their opener, the Blackhawks led 33-18 at half but U-High dominated third-quarter as the Titan’s raced out of the break to outscore Cheney 21-4.
