Eagles’ undefeated streak snapped

Eastern Washington had a four-match undefeated streak — two wins and two ties — snapped Oct. 6 in Flagstaff by Northern Arizona 2-0.

Maddie Shafer scored for the Lumberjacks in the 37th minute, but NAU had the fortune on an “own goal” scored by Eastern as the ball was deflected into the net in the 41st minute.

Eastern (2-1-1 Big Sky, 5-6-4 overall) travels back home and will be hosting its final two home Big Sky matches. They will take on Sacramento State on Friday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. followed by Portland State Sunday, Oct. 16th also at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.

Eagles’ claims first home win

Eastern Washington volleyball rebounded from a 3-0 loss at home to Weber State (Oct. 6) by handing Idaho State a similar loss at Reese Court (Oct. 8).

Lindsey Russell finished with 21 assists and one ace. Sage Brustad had eight kills and seven digs, adding seven digs, two block assists and one ace against Weber.

The Idaho State victory marked Eastern’s and head coach Jon Haruguchi’s first home win of the season. Sage Brustad posted 19 kills and Alyssa Radke recorded 10 kills and three block assists in the game. It was Radke’s 10th game with double digit kills.

Eastern will be at home next weekend for one game, hosting Idaho on Friday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m.
