Sunset Elementary School third-grade teacher Shawna Moore reacts to hearing her name called as the Eastern Washington University Education Department/KHQ/STCU Teacher of the Month for January.

AIRWAY HEIGHTS -- Cheney School District teachers have done it again.

In an assembly this morning, Sunset Elementary School third-grade teacher Shawna Moore was surprised by students, staff and guests by being named the Eastern Washington University Education Department/KHQ/STCU Teacher of the Month. It's the third such recognition for the district in the 2019-2020 school year. Monroe was nominated by fifth-grader Baylee Fletcher-VanDusen.
