Medical Lake board approves policies, improvement plans

MEDICAL LAKE — In a quick session, the Medical Lake School Board approved several policies and the district’s overall School Improvement Plan at its regular meeting after a longer session that outlined individual school improvement plans, before hearing an update regarding ongoing efforts to enroll employees in the new State Education Benefits Board program at it’s Oct. 22 regular meeting.

The board unanimously approved revisions to district policies relating to academic acceleration, graduation requirements and leave sharing, all on second reading.

The board also approved the district’s School Improvement Plan that included Superintendent Tim Ames’ superintendent goals for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Financial Director Chad Moss provided the board an update on efforts to enroll the districts employees in the new state benefits program.

“It’s taken everybody … working tons on helping all of our staff get logged-in to get new benefits rolling for January,” Moss said.
