The Cheney boys soccer team maintained its momentum this week, earning two victories in rapid succession against East Valley and Mount Spokane.
In a March 28 Great Northern League game, the Blackhawks defeated the the Knights (2-4, 0-1) 2-1 thanks to an aggressive offense. Neither team scored in the first half, but Cheney junior Bas Holland scored two second half goals — one in the 71st minute and one in the 73rd — to lead the visiting Blackhawks (4-2, 1-0) to the win.
Cheney took 17 shots to East Valley’s 10 with Blackhawk goalkeeper Trae Babcock making six saves.
