Like many of their fellow spring sports athletes around the region, Cheney High School’s softball team finally made it onto the competitive field with a pair of road games last week.
The Lady Blackhawks opened with a trip to Warden on Thursday, March 21. The perennial 1A state tournament contending Cougars (3-0) of the South Central Athletic Conference pounded out 12 hits against Cheney pitching, and helped by five Lady Blackhawks errors, notched an 8-1 win, scoring at least one run in every inning except the sixth.
