Vote to retain Judge Shelley Szambelan for Position 10

As a practicing attorney and member of the West Plains community I encourage everyone to vote to retain Judge Shelley Szambelan for Spokane County Superior Court Position 10. Judge Szambelan has the patience, intelligence, integrity, ethics, judicial demeanor and experience that makes her uniquely qualified to serve the people of Spokane County.

Prior to her appointment to the Spokane County Superior Court bench, Judge Szambelan served on the Spokane Municipal Court bench for nine years. While serving the people of the city of Spokane, Judge Szambelan was a member of the Washington State Judicial College where she served as Dean-Emeritus in 2016, Dean in 2015 and as a faculty member from 2013-2018.

She has also been a member of the Washington State Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee, District & Municipal Court Judges Association, Spokane County Bar Association, Superior Court Judges Association and the Washington Women Lawyers.

I have had the opportunity of practicing before Judge Szambelan and have found her to be fair, but firm.

She considers cases with care while balancing the needs of the community, the litigants and the integrity of the judicial system. The people of Spokane County will be well served by voting to retain Judge Szambelan.
