Cheney Community Church

The Sunday morning worship service at Cheney Community Church on June 24 will feature, “His Song,” a vocal group from Spokane. They will lead the entire service which begins at 10 a.m. The public is invited to come enjoy the music and testimony of this outstanding musical group. A love offering will be taken.

Bible classes for adults and teens are held at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. Nursery and children’s church are available during the main worship service. Our youth group meets every Monday at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Cheney Congregational Church

Our congregation is made up of people in many different phases of their spiritual journey. We will welcome you, whatever your beliefs.

Men of the church will gather at Cheney Marketplace Bakery & Eatery for breakfast at 7:45 a.m. this Sunday. Our service will feature Mike Folsom as a guest in the pulpit speaking about “The Expansion of Christianity From The Cross to Present Times.”

Feed Cheney on Monday, June 26, will be brown bag suppers in Veterans Park at 5:30 p.m., across the street from the Wren Pierson Community Center. There will also be a free grocery distribution. The clothing bank will not be open for Feed Cheney this summer, but will maintain their regular Wednesday noon – 6 p.m.

On Thursday June 28, we will prepare and deliver lunch for street kids in Spokane at Crosswalk.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us this Sunday, June 24. Coffee hour follows the worship service. Christian education for grade school through adult is on hiatus until September. You may watch our pastor’s sermons on YouTube at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Cheney.

Mark your calendars for Vacation Bible Day Camp. This year the Lutherhaven staff will once again lead our VBS program from July 16-20 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Registration forms for children and volunteers are available on our website at http://www.emmanuelcheney.org. Please note that our VBS program is for children entering first – sixth grade this fall.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food, and personal care items are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. The Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside.

Attention all college students: The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry, ELM, meets each Monday evening at 5 p.m. for dinner, study and worship and invites all college students to join us. For more information contact Soule at (509) 844-2553. Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

Our congratulations to all graduates.

The vegetable garden boxes are planted, the vegetables are growing. We are looking forward to bringing fresh, healthy vegetables to the Cheney Food Bank this spring and summer.

United Methodist Church

Pastor Pat Sleeth will lead the worship service at the United Methodist Church this Sunday while pastor Alissa Bertsch is at our church’s annual conference. Pastor Sleeth’s sermon topic is “Eat Your Veggies” based on the book, “Always Wear Clean Underwear and Other Ways Parents Say I Love You.” There will be a “noisy bucket” offering to benefit this summer’s Vacation Bible School. Sunday school classes are in recess until fall.
