CHS girls tennis defeat Davenport

Sarianne Winters teamed up with Nika Kauwe in the No. 1 doubles position against Davenport on March 17. Cheney ended up winning 3-1 over the Gorillas

The Cheney High School girl's tennis started off their season at home against Davenport with a 3-1 win on March 16.

"They (Davenport) didn't have a full team, but it was good for us to finally get out on the courts and play a few matches," head coach Courtney Webb said. "We played aggressive and played at our own level."

In the No. 1 double spot, Nika Kauwe and Sarianne Winters won the first set 6-2 and didn't stop from there as they took the second set 6-0 against Jade Smith and Megan Holbrock.
