Suominen named National Merit Scholarship Commendable Student

Senior has been to national Future Business Leaders of America competition twice, won state championship in "Organizational Leadership"

Cheney High School senior Rachel Suominen has been named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship program, according to a news release from the high school. Suominen will receive a letter of commendation from the high school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Suominen, who said her last name is Finnish and means "Finland" in that language, is active in marching band and in the Future Business Leaders of American chapter at CHS.
