The Medical Lake softball team ended a four game losing streak that had included a pair of poundings by doing one of their own in Northeast A League play.
Losses to Deer Park 9-5 on April 25 and then back-to-back shutouts on consecutive days — Lakeside 13-0, April 27 and Colville 10-0, April 28 — were fueled in part by the opponent’s pitching, but aided by suspect defense on the part of the Cardinals, who committed 18 errors in the three games, nine alone versus Lakeside.
