Cheney High bowlers reach state

Cheney High School's bowling club sent one team and three singles bowlers to the state championships last Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 18–19, at Lilac Lanes in Spokane. It was the first time the state meet had been held in Spokane since 2005.

Cheney's team finished fourth overall among the eight teams competing in Division 3, head coach Justin Oens said.

Freshman Grace Remendowski (Medical Lake High School) was a first-team all-state selection for girls while David Worthey (Cheney High) was first-team all-state for boys. In singles competition, Shauntee Harless took third in her classification.

The Blackhawks team is composed of Remendowski, Worthey, Wyatt Rosenau, Nathan Hagreen, Josh Miotke and Donovan Hart. Individual bowlers are Harless, Dylan Jones and Kelsie DesJarlais.
