EWU Downtown Gallery to host Tlaloc in Art and Culture exhibit

The Eastern Washington University Downtown Student Gallery is hosting “Tláloc in Art and Culture,” from Sept. 26 to Oct. 31. The exhibit will feature 35 photographs images of the god Tláloc who is considered the god of rain, lord of rivers and springs, and creator of clouds, lightning and thunder. The exhibition is on loan from EWU’s partner Universidad Nacional Autonoma De Mexico.

The photographs of this exhibition were taken from archeological pieces in museums of Mexico and Central America. They are displayed in such a way that will provide viewers the opportunity to see the coincidences and differences of Tláloc among diverse Mesoamerican cultures.

The exhibit runs from Sept. 26 – Oct. 31. The gallery is located at 404 Second Ave., next to Brewster Hall and is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
