Cheney boys compete at West Valley

While it wasn’t quite as close as the Cheney High boys’ track and field team had expected, last Thursday’s 90-55 loss at West Valley still had its moments full of promise.

“The biggest take away of the day is we’re still young, but we compete,” Blackhawks boys’ head coach Derek Slaughter said.

In the field, Gaige Felix brought home a pair of first-place finishes in the jumps, winning the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 6.5 inches and the triple jump at 40-04, with Kaleb Loos right behind him in second at 36-04.
