Cardinal boys sweep tennis week, girls doubles team wins first NEA match

Medical Lake’s boys’ tennis team earned a pair of Northeast A League wins by identical 4-1 scores at Chewelah, April 12 and home versus Deer Park, April 13.

Kason Bailey finished the week with victories at No. 2 singles as did the No. 1 doubles duo of Isiah Farmen and Alex Neder. Bailey had wins of 6-4, 6-4 against Chewelah and 6-1, 6-1 wins versus Deer Park.

The Cardinals’ No. 2 doubles team of Trevor Nilles and Colten Miller also went undefeated with wins of 6-0, 6-0 against Chewelah and 6-1, 6-1 over Deer Park.

While the girls continued to struggle with a 4-1 loss to Chewelah, the No. 3 doubles team of Lauren Saue-Fletcher and Lyndsey Cazier won its first NEA match rallying for a 0-6, 6-4,10-3 victory.

The girls dropped a 3-2 match to Deer Park with No. 1 doubles, Alyssa Pena and Emily Zunker winning 6-4, 6-3 while Sydney Cazier teamed with sister Lyndsey Cazier for a 6-1, 6-3 win.

Next up for the Cardinals is a match at home today, April 21 versus Freeman at 3:30 p.m.
