Babcock takes third in 200 freestyle at state

The Cheney High boys swim team wrapped up their season at the 2A State Championships, Feb. 20.

Trevor Babcock took third in the 200-yard freestyle after he finished in 1 minute and 46.24 seconds and finished fourth (48.76) in the 100 freestyle.

Scott Nadeau finished 12th in the 100 butterfly (57.05).

In team events, Babcock, Nadeau, Ethan Sugimura and Zach Jongeward took 11th in the 200 medley relay (1:49.45). Sugimira, Jongeward, Matt Christianson and Arseniy Tepp finished 23rd in the 200 freestyle relay (1:44.66).

As a team Cheney finished 15th out of 40 2A schools with 54 points.
