EWU men home for one

It will be Eagles versus Eagles in a much-needed home game for the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team.

After a difficult and winless three-game East Coast road swing, the 5-6 Eastern Eagles return home to face the 5-3 Morehead State Eagles of the Ohio Valley Conference on Thursday (Dec. 17) at 6 p.m.

It will be “Santa Swoop Night” on Thursday, with EWU’s mascot dressed in a Santa Claus suit and available to pose for photos with fans at halftime.

This will be one of only two home games for the Eagles in an 11-game road stretch from Nov. 29 to Jan. 2. The other nine are on the road, and thus far the Eagles are 2-4 with three more road games looming.

The Eagles are 5-6, coming off a rugged road trip to the East Coast where they lost three straight to Davidson 96-86 on Dec. 9, at Pittsburgh 84-51, Dec. 11 and to Western Carolina, 97-80 this past Monday.

After a trip to play at Denver of Summit League on Dec. 20, Eastern will open Big Sky Conference play at Northern Colorado (Dec. 31) and North Dakota (Jan. 2).
