Inland Power runs past Nine Mile Falls in softball

WEST PLAINS LITTLE LEAGUE GAME OF THE WEEK

West Plains Little League's Inland Power literally ran itself to a 12-2 win over Northwest Little League's Nine Mile Falls team in action last Friday night at Lakeside High School.

All Inland Power needed the Falls' got in the top of the first by using a combination of walks, steals and Nine Mile Falls wild pitches to score four runs. Coach Tia Pieratt's team scored two runs in the second and fourth innings, one run in the third and three more in the fifth for the win.

Inland Power's Grace Remendowski turned in a one-out, unassisted double play to eliminate a Nine Mile Falls threat in the third, catching a pop-up to retire the batter and then tagging first base to record the out of the runner.

The win extended Inland Power's winning streak to seven games, giving them a West Plains Majors Softball Division-leading 11-1 record. The West Plains squad was to wrap up its season last Monday, June 1, by hosting Nine Mile Falls.
