Cheney girls tennis finishes second in Great Northern League

Calvert remains undefeated, seven seniors honored

The Cheney High girls' tennis team wrapped up their regular season on a high note with a 4-3 win against Pullman, May 7. The Blackhawks ended the year with a 6-2 Great Northern League record, 10-4 overall, and a second-place finish in the league standings. Prior to the Pullman win, Cheney lost 6-1 to Clarkston, May 5.

The Blackhawks' swept the Greyhounds in singles play while all three of Pullman's doubles teams defeated Cheney's.

Bridget Calvert, No. 2 singles, capped her undefeated season - in both league and nonleague competition - with a win over the Greyhounds' Jackie McAleer (6-0, 6-1)....
