Car club holds poker run Oct. 4

The Stars & Stripes, Boots & Spurs Car Club is sponsoring a “poker run” Saturday, Oct. 4, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Top of the Line restaurant in Cheney, 24 W. First St. The run winds through 115 miles of beautiful Palouse countryside, with prizes given out along the way. A 50/50 raffle is also included.

Entry fee for the run is $5, with half the money going to Top of the Line. First 30 entries receive a “dash plaque.”

ML seeks deer volunteers

The city of Medical Lake is seeking volunteers to form a Citizen Deer Advisory Committee. The purposes of the committee will be to form and present options to the City Council on how to mitigate the increasing deer population within the city limits of Medical Lake.

All viewpoints should be represented on the committee. The first meeting is Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Medical Lake City Hall auditorium located at S. 124 Lefevre St. The meeting will be facilitated by the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
