Girls' tennis goes 1-2 in league competition

The Cheney high girls’ tennis team continued to play through their season, going 1-2 in Great Northern League competition.

The Blackhawks first defeated East Valley to pick up their first league win of the season, 5-2.

Cheney swept East Valley in singles competition. In the No. 1 spot, Katelynn Smedley shut out Brittany Nelsen, 6-0, 6-0.

Rachel Hansen, Grace Phol and Linsey Sweitzer won their matches.

At No. 3 doubles, Sadie Knutson and Shayla Payne battled back after losing the first set to win their match.
