The Cheney girls’ tennis team began their season on a high note as they headed to Moses Lake for a jamboree, March 15.

The Blackhawks went undefeated in competition, defeating Ellensburg, 4-2; Othello, 3-1 and Moses Lake, 4-2.

Head coach Jason Overland said the team started slow at first, but became more comfortable throughout the competition.

“We finished strong and I was very pleased,” Overland said. “We played a lot of good teams with good players and they were well coached.”
