FBLA teams earn accolades

Cheney High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club placed two teams in the top-three of national competition in the Virtual Business Challenge.

According to a high school news release, the second place team, Team FLASH, qualified for the national FBLA conference to be held in Nashville, Tenn. next summer.

Team FLASH edged Team Rohirrim by $46 in competition, $609,949 to $609,903. Team Rohirrim finished third but unfortunately did not qualify for nationals as only one team from each state is allowed to go to nationals.

Virtual Business Challenge is an online virtual business scenario where students learn business management skills in a game like fashion.

Team FLASH members are Fletcher Aukerman, Shelby Beedle and Amber Meadows. Team Rohirrim members are Shogo Starr, Talmadge Dickson and Blake Meldrum.
