Limited turn out for Cardinals girls' track

Medical Lake's girls' track team will have to rely on limited numbers and youth in 2010.

Like on the boys' side, the Cardinals girls' will have co-coaches Steve Keith and Phil Averill calling the shots as regular coach Phil Tennison recovers from back surgery.

But the new leaders appear to be finding a lot to like about their little group. “We're just a little thin,” Averill admitted.

Senior Emily Pake will be the “anchor of our team. Expect great things from her,” Averill said of the competitor in discus, shot put and javelin, as well as a slot on the 4 x 100. “...
