CHS boys' golf hopes for pleasant surprises in 2010

Building for the future, and treating any success that comes as an early and pleasant surprise is pretty much the goal head coach Jeff Pike has for his 2010 Cheney boys golf team.

The Blackhawks return two seniors from last year's team, Sean Thaut and Eric Zito. Both are hard workers, Pike said, and will provide match scoring and leadership in their final campaigns.

Three juniors are back, Christian Wright, Matt Chapman and Richi Perez. Wright is likely out for the season with an injury, but Pike said both Chapman and Perez are “dramatically better” than last season, pa...
