    SPANGLE — Fire crews are on-scene again today, Sept. 3, for a wildfire off Heaton Road, northeast of town. As of this morning, officials estimated the fire — dubbed the Heaton Road Fire — at about 320 acres, burning in light timber and dry wheat.     NEWPORT — The Washington State Patrol is asking for the public’s help in solving the cold case killing of Jack LaFond. “The anniversary of this homicide is coming up and the WSP cold case team is still working to solve this case, and bring the person(s) responsible to justice,” Sgt.     CHENEY — Three people were transported to the hospital Tuesday night, Sept. 1, following a drunken driving-related crash. John R. Burton, 27, of Spokane, Edward K.
