  • Blue Waters festival continues summer tradition with new faces

    The Blue Waters Bluegrass Festival is returning to Medical Lake, Aug. 8-10, at Waterfront Park, with a lineup that features several new faces. One of the headliners for this year’s festival is Milk Drive. Kevin Brown, music director for the festival, said the band is “a bit more on the edge, younger and progressive.” Comprised of Brian Beken, Noah Jeffries, Dennis Ludiker and Matt Mefford, “Milk Drive” will play Friday, at 9 p.m. and Saturday, at 2 p.m..     The Airway Heights City Council got a glimpse of the next council member at the July 21 meeting. Four candidates submitted applications for the vacant City Council Position 3 held by Barron Williamson before he moved to Atlanta to take a new job. Three of the applicants, Thomas Shirey, Michael States and Jack Collins attended the meeting to answer questions from the City Council.     The Department of Social Health Services (DSHS) and NAC Architecture presented a draft of their Medical Lake Infrastructure Master Plan for Eastern State Hospital, Lakeland Village, Pine Lodge and Westlake campuses, at a July 23 public hearing. Kelly Lerner, DSHS project manager, explained that the project began two years ago with the goal to address some of the electrical and mechanical issues at Lakeland Village.
