  • Freeman's tops Medical Lake boy's basketball

    In the battle of the Northeast A League's top boys' basketball teams on Jan. 6, Freeman topped Medical Lake 58-44 victory at home. "It wasn't their shooting that killed us, it was their inside play," Cardinals' head coach Noel Hachtel said. "We hadn't faced a team that had that inside presence."   • Eagles fade down the stretch

    Had the finish had been like their start, the Eastern Washington men's basketball team would be sitting pretty as one of just two of the Big Sky Conference's undefeated teams. But the Eagles couldn't replicate the quick 7-0 lead they took at the start of the game, instead surrendering the game's final six points, all from the free throw line, in a 65-59 loss that ruined their undefeated record at home and is now 8-1.
