CHENEY - The Cheney girls were on opposite ends of the scoreboard in a pair of non-league games as they opened the 2024-25 season.
The Blackhawks suffered a 50-27 loss at West Valley, Dec. 3 but recovered for a 57-28 victory at North Central, Dec. 6.
Mairyn O'Regan paced the Blackhawks with eight points in the opener. Cheney, however, was not able to wade its way out of a 25-11 first-half deficit.
"The WV game is one that we are taking as a learning and growing opportunity," head coach Meredith Richards wrote in an email.
