William Thomas (Tom) Trulove

William Thomas (Tom) Trulove, age 81 of Cheney passed away on Dec. 2, 2024. Tom had a life commitment to and passion for public service which included 5 terms as Mayor of Cheney, service on the Cheney city council and on the Cheney planning Commission. He also served as Chair of the Northwest Power Planning Council as well as on many regional, state, and local boards and commissions.

Tom graduated from Klamath Union High School in Klamath Falls, Oregon and University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. His career was at Eastern Washington University as a Professor mentoring too many generations of students where student success was the focus of his career.

Tom is survived by his wife Glea, daughter Karlyn Towey (Bill), sons Tony and Ryan, granddaughters Bailey Rye (Jensen) and Avery Towey (Brandon) and great grandsons Weston and Theo Rye.

Tom valued his family, the hallmark of his life, above all. He will be remembered for his love of family, his work ethic, and dedication to many causes. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. A private family service will be held to honor Tom's life
