West Plains team remains atop standings
CHENEY — The West Plains Cannons rebounded from their first loss of the young season and maintained a hot start winning three of four games last week.
The Cannons improved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in Spokane AAA league play with a 7-2 win over the Spokane Bandits, May 28. They followed that with three non-league games, a 5-4 loss to the Coeur d’Alene Lumberman, May 30 and a doubleheader sweep of the Spokane Rawlings Tigers 8-1 and 14-0.
Lakeside’s Cy Reeves was dominant on the mound ringing up 11 strikeouts and giving up three hits in the Cannons’ 7-2 victory over the Bandits at Holliday Field....
