Smith wins diving competitions

Alma Smith of Cheney scored a pair of wins in 1-meter diving competition last week, qualifying for the state tournament in the process.

Smith also won a state qualifying competition Jan. 13 in Wenatchee with a score of 362.25 and followed that with a win Jan. 14 at the MCC Winter Invite at Eastern Washington University with a 202.70-point dive.

Peyton Anderson’s 58.18 second time was fifth at MCC Winter Invite in the 100-Yard Freestyle, behind Max Geldmacher of Hanford (52.74).
